Kinsta hosting: what it really costs over three years

The short answer

Kinsta's cheapest plans for one WordPress site, Single 35k and Launch, cost $350 billed yearly (shown as $30 a month) or $35 billed monthly, with no intro discount and no renewal jump. Over three years that is $1,050 billed yearly or $1,260 billed monthly. Email and a domain are not included.

The short version

  • Cheapest plan for one WordPress site: Single 35k or Launch, both $350 billed yearly (Kinsta shows this as $30 a month) or $35 billed monthly. Each covers 1 site.
  • 3-year cost: $1,050 billed yearly, or $1,260 billed monthly.
  • What renews: the same list price. Kinsta has no intro discount that jumps later, but its terms let it raise fees with notice.
  • Who it is for: owners of one business site who would rather pay more and hand off server upkeep. Email and a domain are not included.

Kinsta is managed web hosting for WordPress: the host tunes the server, runs backups and handles much of the security work. We have not used Kinsta ourselves. Everything here comes from Kinsta’s pricing page, docs and legal terms.

What the cheapest plan really costs over three years

Most cheap hosts sell a low first term and a much higher renewal. Kinsta does not. The real choice is how you pay: monthly, or yearly with two months free.

How you pay (Single 35k or Launch)Each bill3-year totalYear 4
Billed yearly$350 a year$1,050$350 at today’s price
Billed monthly$35 a month$1,260$35 a month at today’s price

The arithmetic:

  • Yearly: $350 × 3 = $1,050.
  • Monthly: $35 × 36 = $1,260.
  • Paying yearly saves $210 over three years ($1,260 – $1,050).

New customers get the first month free on these two plans. On the monthly route that makes it $35 × 35 = $1,225. On the yearly route, Kinsta says you pay $0 today and $350 after the first month, so we left the free month out of the yearly total.

No domain comes with any plan, and we did not find Kinsta selling domains on the pages we checked. So Verisign’s November 1, 2026 .com price rise lands on your registrar bill, not Kinsta’s. Compare those in our best domain registrars guide.

The plans in one table

PlanBilled monthlyBilled yearlySitesStorage
Single 35k$35/mo$350/yr110 GB
Launch$35/mo$350/yr115 GB
Build$69/mo$690/yr230 GB
WP 2$70/mo$700/yr220 GB

There is no intro price, so the renewal price is the same list price. Single 35k allows 35,000 visits a month. Single 20GB costs the same and is the same plan measured by 20 GB of bandwidth instead of visits. Launch, listed under Kinsta’s Business plans, allows 75,000 visits (or 15 GB of bandwidth) and more storage for the same money. If you are choosing between the two, Launch gives more on paper.

Go over your visit limit and Kinsta can charge overages, which its money-back page says are not refunded.

What is included

  • SSL: free certificates with wildcard support on all plans.
  • Backups: automatic daily backups, kept 14 days on these four plans. You can also make up to 5 manual backups. No restore charge is listed. Backups every 6 hours cost $20 per site a month, and hourly backups $100.
  • Email: not included. Kinsta’s docs say “we don’t provide email as part of our hosting plans” and point to Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or Zoho Mail. See email hosting.
  • Site migration: “Unlimited free migrations” on all plans.
  • CDN: included, with 125 GB of CDN bandwidth a month on Single 35k and Launch.
  • Staging: free one-click staging on all plans. A premium staging add-on is $20 per site a month.

The uptime promise

Kinsta’s pricing page says “Up to 99.99% uptime SLA.” Its service level agreement is more exact: the promise is 99.9% uptime, “unless a higher percentage is set forth in the Customer’s Order Form.”

If Kinsta misses it, you get a credit, not cash. It starts at 5% of your monthly fee for 43 to 59 minutes of downtime and goes up to 20% for 180 to 239 minutes. You must ask in writing within 30 days. The credits “are not redeemable for cash,” and daily maintenance from 2 am to 5 am does not count as downtime.

Leaving later

  • Full backup: once a week you can create a downloadable ZIP with your site files and a SQL database file. The link lasts 48 hours. It does not include MyKinsta settings, redirects or custom Nginx rules.
  • Cancellation fee: none mentioned on the pages we checked.
  • Refunds: a 30-day money-back guarantee for first-time customers. On plans with a free first month, the 30 days start when the free month ends. After 30 days, the plan simply runs to the end of the billing period. No refund is mentioned for the rest of a yearly plan.
  • Data after you cancel: Kinsta says “all data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.” Download your backup first.
  • Domain: none is included, so there is nothing to transfer out. Your domain stays at your registrar.

Who it is right for, and who should look elsewhere

Right for:

  • A business with one WordPress site that wants staging, daily backups and free migrations without managing a server.
  • Anyone who wants the same price every year instead of a cheap first term and a big renewal.
  • People happy to pay yearly to save $210 over three years.

Look elsewhere if:

  • Your budget is under $35 a month. Shared hosting starts far lower at first. See what a website costs.
  • You want email and a domain in the same bill.
  • You run several small sites on a tight budget. Two sites start at $690 a year here.

Questions people ask

How much does Kinsta cost for three years?

The entry plans, Single 35k and Launch, are $350 billed yearly, so $1,050 over three years. Billed monthly at $35, it is $1,260, or $1,225 if you get the first month free as a new customer.

Does Kinsta's price go up at renewal?

There is no intro discount, so you renew at the same list price shown today. Kinsta's terms do say it can raise fees with reasonable notice, and you can cancel before a new fee takes effect.

Does Kinsta include email or a free domain?

No. Kinsta's docs say it does not provide email with its hosting plans and suggest Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or Zoho Mail. No plan includes a domain, so you buy one from a registrar.

What uptime does Kinsta promise?

Its service level agreement promises 99.9% uptime unless your order form sets a higher figure. If Kinsta misses it, you can ask within 30 days for an account credit of 5% to 20% of the monthly fee. Credits have no cash value.
