Best of 2026
Best AI website builders in 2026: 7 picks, from site builders to app builders
The short answer
For a regular business website, Wix is the best AI website builder: Wix Harmony drafts the site and you keep editing it visually, from $17 a month billed yearly. If you want a real web app with logins and a database, Lovable is the easiest AI app builder for non-developers and scores 9/10 for leaving. Developers should look at Bolt or v0.
How we picked
This list is built from research, not our own testing. We ranked each tool on what its pricing page, help center and docs say: what the AI can build, how AI use is metered (credits or tokens), the true 3-year cost and the exit score out of 10 from our exit scores tool. We cover two kinds of tool here, because people searching for an AI website builder usually mean one or the other. Our full method is on the how we research page.
Our 3-year estimates use the plan price for 36 months, a .com domain at Namecheap’s posted prices ($11.28 first year, $18.48 renewal; two renewals, $36.96, where the first year is free), and one Google Workspace inbox at $7 a month billed yearly ($252). Usage-based AI charges are extra.
1. Wix: best AI builder for a regular business website
Wix Harmony, launched January 21, 2026, combines prompt-based building with Wix’s visual editor, and its AI agent, Aria, understands your whole site. You can start from a single prompt and then edit by hand like any Wix site. Wix says Harmony is rolling out in English first.
Light is $17 a month billed yearly; Wix shows month-to-month prices only at checkout. You need Core, at $29 a month billed yearly, to take online payments. Our 3-year estimate is $900.96 on Light.
What to watch: the AI makes it fast to start, but the site can’t leave. Wix’s help center says sites must run on Wix’s servers and blog posts can’t be exported.
Exit score: 3/10. Read our Wix review.
2. Lovable: best for non-developers who want a real web app
Lovable builds a full web app from a chat: pages, a PostgreSQL database, user logins and storage through its built-in Lovable Cloud. Projects created since May 13, 2026 use server-side rendering, so search engines get fully rendered pages.
Pro is $20.83 a month billed yearly ($250 a year), or $25 billed monthly, with 100 monthly credits plus 5 daily build credits. Extra credits cost $15 per 50. Lovable’s examples put build messages at 0.50 to 2.00 credits each, depending on complexity. Our 3-year estimate is $1,050.24, before usage-based charges for backend activity and in-app AI.
What to watch: there is no built-in CMS, so editing content later means prompting or code. The free plan gives 5 build credits a day, capped at 30 a month, with no custom domain.
Exit score: 9/10. Code syncs two ways with GitHub and can run elsewhere; database export is limited to once a day. Read our Lovable review.
3. Squarespace: best AI help on design-led templates
Squarespace’s Blueprint AI builds a site from designer-made templates, and its 2025 update added tools such as an SEO Scanner that suggests titles and image alt text, an AI Product Composer and Beacon AI, a business guide across the platform.
AI runs on credits: Basic gets 10, one time; Core gets 20 a month, Plus 40 and Advanced 120. For regular AI use, look at Core at $29 a month billed yearly ($39 billed monthly). Our 3-year estimate for Core is $1,332.96.
What to watch: some announced AI features were listed as coming soon in September 2025. The design can’t be exported.
Exit score: 5/10. Read our Squarespace review.
4. Bolt: best for technical founders who live in GitHub
Bolt.new is a browser-based AI agent that builds, hosts and deploys full-stack apps. Its GitHub sync works both ways, and unlike Lovable it can import an existing repo. Bolt adds a built-in database with logins, Stripe payments and an SEO feature that serves crawlers a ready HTML version of each page.
Pro is $25 a month billed monthly, starting at 10 million tokens a month. Bolt says yearly billing saves up to 28%, but the yearly figure wasn’t shown on the page we read. Our 3-year estimate at the monthly rate is $1,200.24.
What to watch: Bolt says larger projects use more tokens per message. The free plan has a 300,000-token daily cap and a Made in Bolt badge.
Exit score: 9/10. You get the code through GitHub, but moving data out of Bolt Database isn’t documented. Read our Bolt review.
5. v0: best for developers on Next.js and Vercel
v0 is Vercel’s AI builder. It generates Next.js apps with React, Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui, deploys them to Vercel, and delivers changes as GitHub pull requests.
Plus is $30 per user a month billed monthly, with $30 of monthly credits and $2 of free daily credits; v0 didn’t show a yearly price. The plan alone is $1,080 over 3 years. Hosting is billed by Vercel under a separate plan we haven’t priced.
What to watch: credit cost depends on the AI model you choose; the Max Fast model costs 5 times the Pro model per token. The free plan allows 7 messages a day.
Exit score: 10/10. The code lives in your GitHub repo, but you need a developer to run a Next.js app. Read our v0 review.
6. GoDaddy Airo: best low-cost AI site with code download
GoDaddy’s Airo AI Builder creates websites and simple web apps from prompts. Paid plans let you download the code as a zip, and GoDaddy says everything you build belongs to you.
Starter is $9.99 a month billed yearly ($19.99 billed monthly), with 150 AI credits a month, one published site and a free domain for the first year. Our 3-year estimate is $648.60; we could not confirm whether the plan price renews higher.
What to watch: the free plan (50 AI credits a month) is for building, not publishing. GoDaddy doesn’t say what the code zip includes.
Exit score: 5/10, provisional. Read our GoDaddy review.
7. Hostinger: best for the lowest upfront cost
Hostinger’s AI Builder comes inside its hosting plans and can generate a site or store, write copy, make a logo and create images. Premium also includes a free domain and 2 mailboxes per site for one year.
Premium is $2.99 a month on a 48-month term paid upfront ($143.52), then renews at $10.99 a month. Our 3-year estimate is $432.48.
What to watch: you get 5 AI credits, one time, not monthly. The WordPress export leaves out layout, the store, forms and SEO settings.
Exit score: 3/10. Read our Hostinger review.
What credits and tokens mean
Every tool on this list meters AI use, but each counts it differently, which makes sticker prices hard to compare.
- Credits. Lovable, Squarespace, GoDaddy Airo and Hostinger give you a set number of AI credits. Lovable charges more credits for complex requests. Hostinger’s 5 or 15 credits are one-time, not monthly.
- Tokens. Bolt bills in tokens, small pieces of text the AI reads and writes. Bolt says most token use comes from reading and syncing your project files, so bigger projects cost more per message.
- Dollars. v0 credits are dollar amounts, used up at a rate that depends on the AI model you pick.
Unused AI allowance doesn’t last forever. Bolt’s paid tokens are valid for up to two months in total, v0’s monthly credits expire after 65 days, and Lovable’s monthly credits expire 2 months after issue on monthly billing.

Questions people ask
What is the best AI website builder?
For a standard business site you will edit yourself, Wix with its Harmony AI builder is our top pick. For a web app with logins and a database, Lovable is the easiest choice for non-developers.
What is the difference between an AI website builder and an AI app builder?
An AI website builder drafts a normal site inside a visual editor, like Wix or Squarespace. An AI app builder, like Lovable, Bolt or v0, writes code you own, which is easier to move but needs someone technical to run.
Are AI website builders free?
Most have a free tier with limits. Lovable gives 5 build credits a day capped at 30 a month, Bolt gives 1 million tokens a month, v0 allows 7 messages a day, and GoDaddy Airo's free plan can't publish a site.
Can I leave an AI website builder later?
AI app builders score well: v0 gets 10/10 and Lovable and Bolt 9/10 on our exit scale, because you get the code. AI features inside Wix and Hostinger score 3/10, because the site has to stay on their platform.
