Carrd review 2026: one-page sites for a few dollars a year
The short answer
Carrd is the cheapest way to put a simple one-page site on your own domain: Pro Standard costs $19 a year, and all Pro plans are billed yearly only. Pro Lite ($9 a year) removes the branding but does not allow a custom domain, and Pro Plus ($49 a year) adds a site download, advanced forms and redirects. Carrd is not built for multi-page business sites, blogs or stores. Its exit score is 6 out of 10.

What Carrd is and who it’s for
Carrd is a hosted builder for simple one-page sites: landing pages, personal profiles, link-in-bio pages and small portfolios. It does not do blogs, multi-page business sites or full online stores.
What makes Carrd stand out is price. Its paid plans are billed yearly only, and they cost a few dollars a year rather than a few dollars a month. Pro Standard, the cheapest plan that works with your own domain, is $19 a year.
Carrd has also moved its home: carrd.co now redirects to carrd.com, where the pricing page and docs live.
Our verdict: if you need one good-looking page on your own domain, Carrd is hard to beat on cost. If you need several pages of real content, a blog or a store, pick a full website builder instead.
Plans and what they really cost
Carrd has a free plan and three Pro tiers. All Pro prices on the Carrd Pro page are billed yearly; we found no monthly billing. The per-month column is our own math (the yearly price divided by 12).
| Plan | Billed yearly | Per month | Sites | Key features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 3 | “Made with Carrd” branding; no custom domain |
| Pro Lite | $9 | $0.75 | 3 | No branding; premium .crd.co addresses; no custom domain |
| Pro Standard | $19 | $1.58 | 10 | Custom domain, forms, widgets, embeds, analytics |
| Pro Plus | $49 | $4.08 | 25 | Adds advanced forms, site download, password protection, redirects |
The jump that matters is from Pro Lite to Pro Standard. Pro Lite removes the Carrd branding, but it has no custom domains, forms, embeds, widgets or analytics. For a business, Pro Standard is the real starting point.
Each tier also comes in bigger sizes if you run many sites. Pro Lite 10 is $14 a year for 10 sites and Pro Lite 25 is $29 a year. Pro Standard runs from $39 a year for 25 sites up to $599 a year for 1,000 sites. Pro Plus runs from $89 a year for 50 sites up to $999 a year for 1,000 sites.
You can try Pro free for 7 days with no credit card. Carrd’s docs do not say whether your free sites count toward a Pro plan’s site limit.
Which plan should you pick?
Choose Pro Standard if you want your own domain and a contact form, which covers most freelancers and small businesses. Choose Pro Plus if you need forms that feed Zapier or Airtable, password protection, redirects or a downloadable copy of your site. Pro Lite only makes sense for a personal page where a .crd.co address is fine. Because every plan is paid a full year at a time, use the 7-day trial first to confirm Carrd fits.
How small the bill is
For context, Squarespace Basic is $19 a month billed yearly, Wix Light is $17 a month billed yearly and Framer Basic is $10 a month billed yearly, according to their pricing pages. Carrd Pro Standard is $19 for the whole year. Those builders do far more, but a one-page site may not need more.
A 3-year cost example
Here is a one-page site for a US freelancer, with a .com from an outside domain registrar and one Google Workspace inbox. Carrd does not appear to sell domains, so plan to buy one elsewhere.
| Cost over 3 years | Pro Standard | Pro Plus |
|---|---|---|
| Carrd plan ($19 or $49 a year) | $57 | $147 |
| .com at Namecheap ($11.28 first year, $18.48 renewals) | $48.24 | $48.24 |
| Google Workspace Business Starter, 1 user ($7/mo billed yearly) | $252 | $252 |
| Total | $357.24 | $447.24 |
On Carrd, the email inbox costs more than the website. Skip the business inbox and Pro Standard plus the domain comes to $105.24 over 3 years. If you take payments through the Stripe, PayPal or Gumroad widgets, those services charge their own fees on each sale.
What you can build
Design and pages
Every Carrd site is a single page. There is no blog, CMS (content management system) or menu of separate pages to manage. Carrd’s template count was not published on the pages we reviewed.
On Pro Standard and up, embeds let you add custom HTML and code, such as a booking calendar or a video from another service. Pro Plus adds variables and advanced settings for more control.
Forms and integrations
Forms start on Pro Standard. Pro Plus adds advanced forms that send entries to Zapier, Make, n8n or Airtable, so a lead from your page can land in a spreadsheet or another tool without copying it by hand. Pro Standard also adds a Typeform widget and a Facebook widget.
Payments
Carrd has no store, cart or product catalog. From Pro Standard you can add Stripe, PayPal and Gumroad widgets, which work as payment buttons. That suits selling one product, taking a deposit or offering a digital download. For a real catalog, see our list of the best builders for online stores.
SEO and analytics
Pro Standard connects Google Analytics, Plausible or Matomo. Redirects are a Pro Plus feature. We did not review Carrd’s other SEO settings for this update. Keep expectations modest: one page can rank for your name or brand, but it gives Google little content to rank for broader searches.
AI features
We found no AI features on Carrd’s Pro page or plan docs. You build by picking a template and editing it yourself.
What happens when you leave
The Carrd docs on downloading a site say Pro Plus or higher can download a site as a .zip file of unminified HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Unminified means the code is left readable, so you or a developer can open it and edit it.
- Design: leaves with the download.
- Forms: stay visible but stop working, because they rely on the Carrd platform. Swap in a form service or rebuild them on your new host.
- Re-upload: a downloaded site cannot be uploaded back into Carrd.
- Domain: Carrd connects domains bought elsewhere, so the domain stays with your registrar and you point it at the new host.
- Lower plans: Free, Pro Lite and Pro Standard cannot download. Moving up to Pro Plus ($49 a year) is the way to get the file.
The download is a static site: plain files that almost any web host can serve. That is why leaving takes little skill. Carrd scores 6 rather than higher because only Pro Plus can export, form features stay behind and the files are a copy, not a project another builder can open. Our guide to leaving your website builder covers the rest.
Gotchas
- Pro Lite has no custom domain. You need Pro Standard ($19 a year) or higher for your own domain, forms and embeds (Pro plans docs).
- Download is Pro Plus only. Forms do not work in the downloaded copy (Downloading a Site docs).
- Free means branding. Free accounts are capped at three sites and must show “Made with Carrd” (Pro page).
- Yearly billing only. No monthly prices are listed (Pro page).
- One page per site. There is no blog or CMS, so a growing business will outgrow it.
Who should pick Carrd, and who should not
Pick Carrd if:
- You need a landing page, personal profile, link-in-bio page or simple portfolio.
- You want the cheapest way to put a site on your own domain: $19 a year on Pro Standard.
- You want a downloadable HTML copy of your site (Pro Plus, $49 a year).
Look elsewhere if:
- You need a multi-page business site, a blog or an online store.
- You want to pay month to month.
- Your page depends on forms and you might move it later, since forms stop working in the download.
Alternatives worth a look
- Framer: a design-led builder for polished multi-page marketing sites and portfolios, from $10 a month billed yearly.
- Squarespace: a full builder with a blog, store and scheduling, from $19 a month billed yearly.
- Best website builders for portfolios: our shortlist if your one page is really a portfolio that needs room to grow.
